Normec acquires ECM, strengthening its Healthcare Certification and Testing capabilities
Normec is pleased to announce the acquisition of ECM (Ente Certificazione Macchine), a leading Italian certification and testing organisation with more than 20 years of experience in regulatory compliance, product certification, and safety assessment.
ECM was founded by Antonio Bedonni and further developed under the leadership of Luca Bedonni, with the continued support of its founder. Under their guidance, ECM has built a strong reputation as a Notified Body (No. 1282) and an accredited testing laboratory, providing certification, testing, inspection, and training services across medical devices, machinery, electrical safety, and electromagnetic compatibility.
The organisation is authorised to perform conformity assessments under key European regulations, including the Machinery Directive and the Medical Device Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (MDR). In addition, ECM is accredited for quality management system certification, including ISO 13485, and operates as an accredited testing laboratory under ISO/IEC 17025.
With this acquisition, Normec further strengthens its Healthcare and Certification portfolio and expands its presence in Southern Europe.
